Cats Taste – Taste Isn’t Everything

Cats have a reputation for being finicky eaters, and their is a scientific explanation. Cats have only 473 taste buds compared to the more than 9,000 human-beings possess. As feline taste buds are few in numbers and poorly developed, cats depend more on their sense of smell than taste. They do not adopt the canine motto of “eat first, ask later” when it comes to food.

As most cat owners would know, cats don’t always eat the same thing 2 days in a row. We could be going to the supermarket and buying several varieties of food just to have them turn their nose up at it. The secret is to not give into them. Place the food down in the morning and if they haven’t eaten it in 30 minutes, don’t give into your kitty and change the food. This encourages them to be even more spoilt then they already are.
